Pocket PC Chess is one of the games available in the XerCom Pocket Games suite, a collection of traditional board games developed for use on a Pocket PC / PDA / Mobile Device. Ideal for use at home, or as travel games, and with their multiple skill levels provide a variety of challanges.

ChessPocket PC Chess allows either one or two player mode. In one player mode the PocketPC will be your opponent. Before beginning Pocket PC Chess select a skill level from the Options menu, and then begin the game by selecting the Chess piece you wish to move first. The Chess pieces are selected by touching the screen on the square where the Chess piece is located - the square will turn blue. To complete a move, touch the the square you wish to move the Chess piece to. You may deselect a chosen Chess piece by touching it again. Deselecting is only available in beginner mode, otherwise you must move a piece once touched. Castling is achieved (if it is a legal move) by moving the King next to the Rook which will cause the Rook to move automatically to the other side of the King. |
